报告题目:Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of Kidneys and Muscles


报告摘要

MRI is one of the most versatile imaging modalities that could assess multiple aspects of tissue or organ’s physiology. In this talk, Dr. Zhang will introduce the team’s research on functional MRI of kidneys and of skeletal muscles. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a severe health problem worldwide, and its early diagnosis is important. Multiple MRI methods, including BOLD for tissue oxygenation and ASL for perfusion, have been shown to be promising in assessing renal injury and fibrosis. For skeletal muscles of calf, the team has proposed an exercise-stimulated DCE MRI protocol to evaluate muscle hyperemia. This method can be used to quantify walking performance for patients with peripheral artery disease. Dr. Zhang will also identify a few technical problems that could be solved by medical image computing tools such as deep learning.

嘉宾简介

张雷(Jeff L. Zhang),上海科技大学生物医学工程学院,副教授,博士生导师;兼职于上海联影医疗科技有限公司,任功能磁共振实验室主任。曾任职于美国纽约大学放射科助理科学家(2006),犹他大学放射科终身副教授(2018),(哈佛医学院)麻省总医院放射科 VPIR实验室主任(2019)。长期从事肾脏功能成像的研究与临床应用,是多项磁共振技术包括动态灌注成像(DCE)和血样水平依赖技术(BOLD)在肾脏功能定量分析上的最早开发者;相关技术已经应用于慢性肾病、高血压肾病和肾移植的临床应用,以及肾脏纤维化的临床前研究;相关项目获得过RSNA (research scholar grant), NKF (young investigator award)和NIH (R01)资助。张雷教授的最新研究方向是运动激励后的肌肉血流测量,课题组成功将运动引入磁共振成像中,实现了肌肉的功能成像,为周围动脉病患者的腿部肌肉功能评估提供了有力的诊疗工具,该项目也于近年获得NIH (R01)资助。
